_______Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at St. John’s American Lutheran Church in Guttenberg for Mrs. Anna Marie Homan, 96, one of Guttenberg’s oldest residents, who died last Thursday at her home following a long illness.
The services were conducted by Rev. E. W. Kraemer, Pastor of the church, and burial was in the Guttenberg City cemetery in charge of the Tuecke funeral home. Pallbearers were Walter Bahls, Ed Schnieder, Lester Aulwes, and Joe Schroeder.
Mrs. Homann [sic] was born November 25, 1867, in Guttenberg, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Aulwes. On January 8, 1895, she was married to August Homann in Guttenberg. Mr. Homann died on April 19, 1945.
Surviving Mrs. Homann are two daughters Mrs. James Bissell of Elkader, and Mrs. Hulda Weseman of Guttenberg. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren as well as one brother, Helmuth Aulwes of Guttenberg.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Homann was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
For the past several years Mrs. Homann had been bedfast most of the time and had been cared for by her daughters, Mrs. Weseman.
