August Homann died at the home of his son August, Tuesday night, June 13, 1905. Deceased was born in Hanover, Germany, January 1, 1835, and came to Clayton county and settled on a farm three miles south of Guttenberg in 1864. In 1869 he was married to Mrs. Louise Beerman who died August 30, 1895. He was afflicted with a paralytic stroke about five years ago and has been confined to his bed ever since. He is survived by his son Au gust and two stepsons, William and Louis H. Beerman, both of whom reside here. The funeral will take place this (Friday) afternoon from the residence of August Homann, Jr., at 2 o’clock. Services by Rev. J. Janzig, at the Lutheran church. Interment in the Dittmer cemetery.

At the home of his son August in North Guttenberg, Tuesday, August Hamann [sic] quietly passed away at the age of 70 years, 5 months and 12 days. Deceased was born in Hanover, Germany, Jan. 1, 1835, and came to this country in 1864, settling in Clayton county on a farm near Guttenberg the same year, and about the same time was married here. Five years ago the twelfth day of this month Mr. Hamann suffered a paralytic stroke and since that time has never left his bed. Surviving him are his son August and two stepsons, William and Louis Beerman. Interment was made Friday in the Dittmer cemetery, Rev. Janzig conducting the funeral services.
