Julius Peterson, who died at his home in Boardman township, last week Wednesday, July 13th, of heart failure, had been ill only a week.
He was born August 28, 1860, in Wagner township and thus had reached the age of 72 years, 10 months and 26 days at the time of his death. He received his education in the rural schools of Wagner township and in 1881 was united in marriage with Tillie Ulberg.
Four children were born to this union: Mary, who died in 1920, Julia, Perry and Alice. The surviving children are, Mrs. Harry Short, Mrs. Ralph Koons and Perry, all of Elkader.
Mrs. Peterson preceded her husband on February 26th, 1932, but besides his children he is survived by one brother, Albert Peterson, and two sisters, Mrs. Laura Olson and Mrs. Josie Larson, as also three grandchildren.
Mr. Peterson had lived on the farm on which he died since 1888, having followed the occupation of a farmer all his life.
Services were held July 21, in the Norway church and burial was made in the Norway cemetery, the Rev. _____ _______ officiating. Ester Olson and Eleanor Guyer served as flower girls, while the casket bearers were: George Larson, Wm. Larson, Ole Olson, Gus Olson, Pete Peterson and Oliver Peterson.
