Strawberry Point: Adam E. Olinger, son of Engebert Olinger and Susana Hanson Olinger, was born seven miles north of Strawberry Point, February 8, 1870, and passed away at the St. Joseph Hospital in Dubuque, May 10, 1933. He was united in marriage to Miss Rose Tinker. To this union eleven children were born, four of whom have preceded him in death. Mr. Olinger was a prosperous and well-to-do farmer, and a man of strong convictions, competent and faithful in the discharge of his duties. Twelve years ago Mr. and Mrs. Olinger moved to town where they have enjoyed the fruits of their labors and their savings. Mr. Olinger was secretary of the Strawberry Point Farmers Creamery for four years. Mr. Olinger was a devout Catholic and attended St. Mary's church. He never failed his church, his family, or his community when there was work to be done for a worthy cause he was ready to do it. Mr. Olinger was one of a family of eleven children. His work is done on worth and he has earned a rich heritage in his new home beyond the grave.

He is survived by his wife, six sons and one daughter: Rev. J. J. Olinger of Mason City, Leon, Glenn, Paul and Dale of Strawberry Point and Sister Mary Frances of the Cincinnati providence, also six grandchildren, five sisters and three brothers: Mrs. William Baldridge, strawberry Point; Mrs. D. A. Harkins, Sheldon; Mrs. A. J. Billington, Fresno, Cal.; Mrs. Jno. Clauson, Detroit, Mich.; George, Strawberry Point; John, Minneapolis; and Barney, Chamberlam, S.D.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic church, Saturday morning. Archbishop Beckman of Dubuque assisted at the Solomon High Mass in Cappa Magna, Rev. J. J. Olinger, son of the deceased was celebrant of the mass.

The casket bearers were five sons and a nephew, Elmer Baldridge. Interment was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

(Note: One surviving son and one sister appear to not be named. This obit also included the names of about 30 Fathers, Deacons, Monsignors, etc., and where they were from, who attended or assisted in the funeral services, but were not transcribed here.)
