Clayton County Register, Thur., 30 Mar. 1933. Guttenberg column.

Mrs. Joseph Felder (Nee Anna Burr), one of this community's life-long residents and worthy mothers, died at her home in Guttenberg Monday forenoon at 11:40 o'clock, following an illness of a long duration. Deceased was born on a farm in Jefferson township, Clayton County, Iowa, on June 3, 1870, a daughter of Teresa and Peter Burr. She grew to young womanhood there. On April 14, 1891, she was married at Guttenberg to Joseph Felder, and since that time has been a resident of this city. She was a faithful member of the Catholic church.

During her illness Mrs. Felder was a patient sufferer and had hopes of recovery until the Angel of Death called her to the Great Beyond. All that loving hands could do and medical knowledge could suggest was done for her to save her life, but all to no avail. Mrs. Felder was a kind, true and loving wife, mother, sister and friend, and her memories will be forever cherished by all who knew her. To know her was to like her. Her death is deeply mourned by her husband, eight children, namely: Albert Felder of Wadena; Clarence Felder of La Crosse, Wis.; Edward A. Felder of Guttenberg; Mrs. Hildegard Carrier of Guttenberg; Mrs. Clara Markus of Dubuque; Sylvester Felder of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. Frances Augustine of Dubuque; and Joseph Felder, Jr., at home. 14 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Adolph Meyer, Mrs. John Stamm and Miss Fannie Burr, all of Guttenberg; two brothers, Mathias Burr of Guttenberg, and Frank Burr of Jefferson township, and many other relatives and friends who will all sadly miss this good and true woman. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Father J, A, Dupont at St. Mary's Catholic church in Guttenberg this (Thursday) morning at 9:00 o'clock. The body was laid to rest in Mt. Olivet cemetery. The funeral was attended by a large number of relatives and friends from far and near.
