Funeral services of Mrs. Frank Ball who was killed instantly in the earthquake at Bellflower, Cal., Friday night, Mar. 10, 1933, were held Thursday afternoon, Mar. 16.
Esther Minnie Waring was born Sept. 4, 1896, at Strawberry Point, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Frank M. Ball of Strawberry Point, at Charles City, July 18, 1918. In 1922 they went to California and Aug. 15, 1923, they took up residence at 416 Ardmore Ave., Bellflower, where the deceased was living at the time the accident occurred. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, a daughter LaVon aged 12, a son Robert Oliver, aged 8 years, her mother Mrs. Eliza Waring, four sisters, Miss Elizabeth Waring and Mrs. Olive Gladwin, and three brothers, Lawrence, Charles and William all of Strawberry Point, Mrs. Carrie Tickner and Mrs. Emma Nieman of Oelwein, besides other relatives and a large circle of friends. A sister Mary and a brother Herman preceded her in death.
Bert Twembley, first reader at the First Church of Christ Scientist, Bellflower, Cal., conducted the services, "Shepherd Show Me How to Go" was sung by Arthur Carrah. Interment took place at the Rose Hill cemetery, Whittier.
