Clayton: Lucy B., daughter of Elisa and Rebecca Grist, was born on her father's farm near Garnavillo, Iowa. At the age of five years she came with her parents to Clayton, Iowa, and has resided here since, except four years at Fayette. In her young womanhood she gave herself unreservedly to her Savior, living in his companionship throughout her life.

On Dec. 21, 1892, she was joined in holy wedlock with W. H. Beacom, it being the first marriage in this church. To this union two children were born, Mrs. C. Smith of Atkins, Iowa, and a son, Wesley L, of Deland, Fla., who, together with her husband, are left to mourn the loss. She departed this life at the age of 69 years, nine months and 22 days.

Mrs. Beacom was a true Christian woman, saved through the precious blood of Christ. She was a loving wife and mother, always steadfast for the right. She was ever in her Master's service, ready for the call. Our sympathy is with the bereaved ones in their loss.

Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. C. D. McGoon and children of Hampton, Mr. and Mrs. McLoon and daughter of Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Nelson of Viroqua, Wis., Hazel Marsten of Cascade, Mr. and Mrs. A. Horning and Ralph, and Mr. and Mrs. L. Horning of McGregor.
