Amelia Herwig, the daughter of Katie and Justus Herwig, was born March 5, 1880, at Osborne, Iowa, and died at her home in Volga, Sunday, February 5, at the age of 52 years and 11 months.
When a young lady Amelia moved, with her parents, to a farm near Volga. On April 12, 1899, she was united in marriage to J. Jellings of Volga. To this union two children were born, LaVern of this place and Lucille of Minneapolis, Minn.
About 23 years ago Mrs. Jellings united with the Methodist Episcopal church of which she has been an active and loyal member.
She leaves to mourn her death her husband, her daughter Lucille, her so LaVern, and one grandson, James Dallas, her mother, Mrs. Katie Herwig, three brothers, Henry and George of West Union and Justus of Arlington; five sisters, Mrs. Martin Shea of West Union, Mrs. George Rattmann of Roundup, Mont., Mrs. A. C. Boody of Hudson, Wis., Mrs. H. V. Yarrington of Creston, Iowa, and Mrs. Wm. McAfee of Bergenfield, N.J.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 8th, from the M.E. church here.
