Clayton County Register, Thur., 09 Feb. 1933. Monona column.
Mildred Smith died Saturday noon in the home of her mother, Mrs. Norman Smith, having been in poor health for months. She was a sweet girl, always met everyone with a smile and endeared herself to all she met. No sacrifice was to great for her to perform for her loved ones. Her character was spotless and without a blemish, and although in poor health, was always cheerful. She will be missed by those who knew her, especially her mother and sisters. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:15 from the home and at 2 o'clock from the Volney M.E. church, with burial in the Smithfield cemetery, Rev. Louis H. Joslin officiating. Surviving her are her mother, Mrs. Norman Smith, three sisters, Mrs. Alma Scholl, Grace and Caroline, and four brothers, William, Lee, Elmer and Melvin Smith.
