Mrs. Wilhelmina Fick, aged eighty-five years, died suddenly Friday night at suppertime in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank F. Voelzke with whom she made her home. She was born November 7, 1848, at Atlan-Walde, Germany, and lived to be eighty-five years, one month and twenty-four days old. She was one of a family of six children, all of whom have preceded her in death. When a young lady she married Alber Voelzke, Sr., and was the mother of 5 children, one daughter dying in infancy and Mrs. William Bruehahn in Monona. Her husband died in Germany and she came to America with her four children. Several years later she was married to the widower Karl Fick who passed away about six years ago and since that time she has lived with her daughter and son, most of the time with her son Frank F. Voelzke where she was tenderly cared for. Surviving her are her two sons, Frank F. Voelzke and Albert Voelzke, her one daughter, Mrs. Gustav Strelow, fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She has three living step-children, Albert Fick and Mrs. Gus Thias of Monona, and Mrs. August Wallace of Dubuque.
Funeral services were held at two o'clock Thursday afternoon from the Lutheran Evangelical church, the Rev. A. Daugs officiating with burial in the Lutheran cemetery beside her husband. Pallbearers were Frank J. M. Possehl, Henry Taake, Gustav Pufahl, John C. Garms, Charles Kuthe and August Kregel, the same men who were pallbearers for her late husband Karl Fick.
