Kregel, life-long resident of this community, died at his home in Guttenberg Sunday, Jan. 22, 1933, at five o'clock p.m., at the age of 44 years, one month and nine days, after an illness of a long duration. Deceased was born on a farm in Jefferson township, Clayton county, Iowa, on Dec. 13, 1888, where he grew to manhood. He was married at Mendota, Ill., to Miss Barbara Friedlein. Kregel, of Jefferson township; four sisters, Mrs. Louise Hensman of Geary, Okla.; Mrs. Otto Meyer of Jefferson township; Mrs. Henry Clefisch of Volga township; and Mrs. John F. Tuecke of Guttenberg, and numerous other relatives and friends, by whom he will be sadly missed. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. J. F. Adix, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in Guttenberg on Wednesday afternoon, with burial in the City cemetery. The funeral was attended by relatives and friends from far and near. The family has the sympathy of all in this community.
