Clayton County Register, Thur. 13 Dec. 1928. Guttenberg column.

Friends in this city received the sad news of the death of Mrs. B. W. James on Monday. She was at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. The body was brought to Guttenberg on Tuesday morning and taken to the I.O.O.F. hall, and on Wednesday was taken to her home. Those left to mourn her death are the husband, B. W. James, and two sons Dwight and Paul, who are attorneys at Des Moines; three sisters, Mrs. Geo. Schlinger of Cleghorn, Iowa, and Mesdames Herbert Hall and Ed. Hyde at Colesburg. There are four grandchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her, The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon from the Methodist church at 2:00 o'clock, Rev. Dale D. Welsch officiated and burial waas made in the City cemetery.
