Henry Carl Lindenberg, child of Henry Lindenberg and Christine Lindenberg, nee Fanggen, was born in Elk township, Clayton county, Iowa, on the 27th day of July in the year of our Lord, 1888. He was received into the fellowship of his Saviour through holy Baptism on the first day of December in the year 1888. After being duly instructed in the teachings of the Evangelical Lutheran Immanuel's church of Elkport, he was confirmed by his pastor Rev. S. W. Fuchs on the 13th day of April, in the year 1902. He was united in holy wedlock to Miss Romanda Brandenburg on Feb. 18th, 1914. This union was blessed with one child, Lowell, who, with his mother mourn the sudden departure of their husband and father.
Mr. Lindenberg has been in failing health for some time. Everything possible was done to relieve his suffering, and high hopes at times were held for his recovery, but on Nov. 29th, he passed away.
He was a kind and loving husband and father, had many friends and lived and was reared where he passed away. He leaves to mourn his untimely departure, his widow, one son, two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Lundt, Mrs. Bertha Ortman, both of Elkport; one sister, Tillie, preceded him in death; three half-brothers, George Meyer, of Nashua, Iowa, John Meyer of Hammond, Wis., Wm. Meyer of Garber; two half-sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Schulz of Deep River, Iowa, Mrs. Anna Muetters of California, and other relatives and friends.
Deceased reached the age of 40 years, four months and two days. The funeral was held in the Evangelical Lutheran church Sunday, Dec. 2nd, at 2:00 p.m. Interment was made in Mt. Harmony cemetery, Rev. F. C. Damm officiating.
