Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 29 Sept. 1910. Littleport column.
Little Clarence Zapf died Wednesday morning after an illness extending over several weeks, do to cholera infantum. The little one has been a patient sufferer during his illness and gave up life only after a bitter struggle with the grim destroyer. Clarence was a general favorite with all who knew him, his sunny disposition making him loved by all, and his death has caused a veil of sorrow to fall over the entire village. His fate, however, rested with One who does all things well, and at 5 o'clock Wednesday morning his little spirit flew to its Creator, there to be received into the loving arms of Christ, who once said "Suffer little children to come unto me, for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven." The funeral is to be held Friday.
