Peter Scully passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 6th, at the home of Peter Glennon. Mr. Scully has been ill for several weeks. The funeral was held Thursday morning. Interment at Elkader.

Peter Scully was born in Queen's county, Ireland, March 25th, 1832, and died September 6th, 1910, at the home of his nephew, Peter Glennon. In 1847 he came to America with his mother and two sisters. In the year 1865 he came to Iowa and settled in Highland township. About ten years ago he came to this place and has resided here since. He leaves to mourn his loss one sister, Mrs. Pat Bergan, and many nieces and nephews. He was a devoted member of the Sacred Heart church, where the funeral was held Thursday morning. Interment was in St. Joseph's cemetery at Elkader. Mr. Scully was a man that everyone liked and during his last illness everything was done for him that could possibly be done.
