On last Friday morning we were pained to hear of the death of one of our old and respected citizens, John Rohde, at the home of H. J. Hammaman, on the west side. John was 67 years and 13 days old at the time of his death. He had been in poor health for over two years. He was of a good disposition and was a great friend of all the little children, who will miss him. His funeral was held on Sunday at 2 p.m., and conducted by the I.O.O.F. and M.B.A., of which he was a member., Rev. Hirsch officiating. The members marched to the Mount Harmony cemetery, where services were held by the I.O.O.F.. He leaves to mourn his loss hosts of friends, having no relatives in this country.
