Mrs. Hans R. Hanson was born in Clayton County, Iowa, February 29th, 1858. In 1881 she was married to Hans R. Hanson and they went the same year to North Dakota, where they lived until the year 1891, when they came back to Clayton County, where they have since made their home.

She had been suffering about a year with heart disease and sought medical aid at different places, but nothing seemed to help. She died June 24th, 1910, at the age of 52 years, 3 months and 24 days.

She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, six children, her aged father and mother, three sisters and one brother. She has gone to a better home, but the home she left on this earth will never be the same, for "What is home without a mother?"

The funeral services were held Monday, June 27th, in the Norway Lutheran church, Rev. Arveson officiating.
