Silas C. Truman died on Wednesday, March 16th, at Marshalltown, at the age of 82 years. Silas Truman was born in New York state on July, 1828. He came to Iowa in 1860, and has ever been a resident of this state. He served in Co. B. of the First Iowa Calvary until the close of the war. Interment was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery, Saturday, March 19th, under the auspices of the G.A.R.
