Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 17 Mar. 1910. Guttenberg Column.
After an illness of five days caused by pneumonia, Miss Anna Bierbaum, daughter of the late G. H. Bierbaum, the former well known farmer northwest of Guttenberg, passed away last Friday at the home of her sister, Mrs. Chas. Nieman, at Earlville.
Miss Bierbaum left for Earlville about two months ago to visit her sister. She had been in her usual health until five days before her death, when she suffered an attack of pneumonia and the announcement of her sudden passing away was a shock to relatives and friends. It was her intention to return home to be present with the other heirs at the time of the settlement of the affairs of her father's estate, and in fact had planned on returning on the same day and by the same day and by the same train that conveyed her to the old home a corpse.
Deceased was born on the old homestead between Guttenberg and Garnavillo and was aged 47 years, 11 months and 28 days. The funeral was held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., with interment in the Ceres cemetery, Rev. Bosholm, of St. Peter's Lutheran church at Garnavillo officiating.
The surviving relatives are her aged mother, three brothers and two sisters, namely: John and Henry, of Cass county; Mrs. Maggie Bunker, of Rockwell; Mrs. Chas. Nieman, of Earlville; and Chris at home.
