On Friday morning the Angel of Death entered the home of Chas. Meyer and took from their midst the loving wife and mother. Alma Maria Wilhelmina Mohning, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hy. Mohning, was born at LeMars, Ia., on Dec. 22nd, 1876, and died Feb. 25th, 1910. She was confirmed on Nov. 22nd, 1891, in the German Ev. St. Johann's church at LeMars, Iowa. On Dec. 29th, 1898, she was united in marriage to Chas. Meyer, of this place. They settled down on a farm near Garnavillo, where they have since resided and where they enjoyed a happy wedded life. Two little boys came to gladden their home and are left to mourn the loss of their mother. Besides her husband and two little sons that are left to mourn her untimely death are her aged parents and several sisters and brothers.
The funeral took place Monday at St. Paul's church, Rev. Braun officiating, with interment in the new cemetery. Those from a distance who were in attendance are: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mohning and daughter, of LeMars; Mr. and Mrs. Will Mohning and Mr. and Mrs. Sarbrock, also of LeMars; and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tuecke, of Manly, Ia.
