Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 17 Dec. 1914. Farmersburg column.

Sunday morning occurred the death of Mrs. F. J. Corlett, at their home near town, her death resulting from the shock and burns, which she received when a lamp exploded last Thursday evening, scattering oil over her clothing. Mr. Corlett and son Don were badly burned on their hands extinguishing the fire, Mr. Corlett the most severly, but they are improving as well as can be expected. The funeral was held Wednesday morning, at 10 o'clock, at the home.

(Note: WPA records indicate Lillian Corlett, 1871 - 13 Dec. 1914, as buried in Giard Cemeery.)
