Mrs. Maria Gosting, a former resident of this city, and one of the early pioneer settlers of this community, passed away at her home in St. Louis, Saturday, Nov. 21st. Mrs. Gosting was 75 years old and the widow of Alfred A. Gosting, who died 29 years ago. She leaves eight children to mourn her loss: Mrs. F. E. Austin, of Bunker Hill, Ill.; Mrs. Geo. Nettleman, of Toledo, Ohio; Milton and Henry Gosting, of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. H. C. Applegate and Mrs. J. M. Crawford and Emma and Fred Gosting. The body was brought here Tuesday and interment took place in Strawberry Point cemetery, beside the body of her husband. Rev. Bailey, of the Baptist church, officiated at the grave.
