Funeral services for Anton Lorenz, well known Guttenberg resident, died at his home here Tuesday evening, will be held at [cut off] o'clock Friday afternoon at the Tuecke funeral home.

Services will be conducted by Rev. Robert D. Simison, pastor of the Guttenberg Methodist church and burial will be in the Guttenberg City cemetery. Mr. Lorenz had been ill for a period of time and his condition had been critical for some [cut off].

He was born December 7, 1872, in Dubuque, Mr. Lorenz was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bohn. When he was four years old his mother died and he was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Anton Lorenz of Dubuque.

At the age of 19 years he came to Guttenberg to work as a butcher, working for Mr. Saxe and later for the Gilbertz market. He later worked as a button cutter and [cut off] years before his passing, assisted his son in the latter's [cut off].

Mr. Lorenz was a member of M.W.A. and for 17 years recording secretary of the [cut off] here.

May 3, 1893, he married Frances Kirch and four years ago they celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary.

Surviving are Mrs. Lorenz and [cut off] children, Vivian at home, Arnold of Portland, Oregon and Lester of Lamont. Also surviving [cut off] grandchildren: Robert, [cut off], and Lois Glea of Portland, Mark Allen of Lamont, [cut off] as one half-sister, Mrs. [cut off] (Elsie) Germaine of Dubuque.

Mr. Lorenz was preceded in death by one daughter who died in infancy, two half sisters, Emma and Pauline Bohn and one half-brother, Henry Bohn of Dubuque.
