Mrs. W. J. Beerman was called to Spencer, S. D., Saturday morning by the death of her father, Fred Krueger, Sr., a former resident of this community. Deceased was born in Germany about 74 years ago, alter coming to America. He was married at Guttenberg, Iowa, to Miss Sophia Schroeder, who preceded him in death about four years ago. for a number of years Mr. and Mrs. Krueger lived on a farm in Jefferson township, Clayton county, Iowa, later going to South Dakota, where they were also successfully engaged in farming for many years near Spencer. For the past few years deceased has been residing in Spencer. His death is mourned by seven sons, Rudolph, Fred, Paul, William, John, Ben and Louis Krueger, all of South Dakota, two daughters, Mrs. W. J. Beerman, of Guttenberg, and Miss Minnie Krueger, of Spencer, South Dakota, a number of grandchildren and many other relatives and friends, by whom he will be sadly missed. Mr. Krueger was well and favorably known here, and was an ambitious and trustworthy man. He had been ailing for some time. The funeral held at Spencer, S. D., Tuesday. One son, Henry Krueger, also preceded him in death.
