Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 09 Jul. 1914.
Marvelle, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klink, Jr., of Volga township, was born May 16, 1909, and died July 2d, 1914, aged 5 years, one month and sixteen days.
She was a frail flower, sent to brighten the hearts of her loved ones for a brief time and wind the tendrils of her life about their hearts by her sunny nature. Such a brief time that God gave then took away again, leaving sorrow it is true, but also tender memories, that will bless throughout the years.
We shall miss thee, Marvelle, darling,
And thy chair is vacant here.
But some day we'll know, loved one,
Why you had to leave us, dear.
But dear girlie, when life's o'er
You'll greet us on the other shore. She leaves to mourn her early death her dear parents and little brother, Alvin, also her aged grandparents and many other relatives and friends.
The burial took place on Saturday, July 4th, to the Catholic church in Elkport, and the casket, with its precious contents, was lowered to its last narrow little bed in the Catholic cemetery. Rev. Father Minogue officiated at the services.
The Misses Mabel and Melvina Klink and Velma Stahl, cousins of little Marvelle, and Tena Mienen acted as pall-bearers.
The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful.
