Geo. L. Bass Gone.
The McGregor papers of last week pay lengthy tributes to the memory of George L. Bass, who died on Friday, Nov. 2lst, aged 78 years and 5 months. Mr. Bass arrived at McGregor, landing in the spring of 1850, and from that time until he retired from business there was little doing for the general benefit of his community that Mr. Bass was not into with all his push, energy, and strength.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery and was born June 23, 1824.
