Betsy Jane Page was born in New York state, Dec. 1st, 1837, was reared on her father's farm and moved with her parents to Fulton, Rock County, Wis., where she was united in marriage to Lyman Lamphier on Oct. 28th, 1855. To this union were born fourteen children.

She is survived by her husband and eleven children, three children having passed away in infancy. The children are namely: Ida Hastings, of Oelwein, Ia.; Elmer Lamphier, of Elkport, Ia.; Emma Walterbaugh, of Oelwein, Ia.; Frank Lamphier, of Fedora, S.D.; Mary Morris, of Yankton, S.D.; Henry Lamphier, of Wadena, Ia.; Warren Lamphier, of Arnott, S.D.; Austin Lamphier, of Clermont, Ia.; Maurice Lamphier, of Osborne, Ia.; Oscar Lamphier, of Wadena, Ia.; and Julia Jones, of Wadena, Ia. Besides her husband and children she is survived by thirty-eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, also two brothers and one sister, besides a host of other relatives and friends, who will deeply mourn her departure.

She came with her husband to her present home in the early days of 1858, where she has resided until her death, which occurred July 3rd, 1914.

best.

The funeral services were held from the home Sunday, conducted by Rev. J. M. Jennings, assisted by Rev. Walter Piper, and was largely attended. Six sons acted as pall-bearers and she was laid to rest in the Volga cemetery.
