The remains of Mrs. Mary Saffelder arrived here from Omaha, Sunday morning. Funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Marguret Eppens Sunday afternoon, Rev. Rutherford, of the M.E. church, officiating. Interment was made in the City Cemetery. The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends. Deceased was born at Cincinnati, Ohio, on Aug. 16, 1839, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stevens, and died at her home in Omaha, Nebr., on May 19, 1914, at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 3 days, the cause of her death being a complication of diseases. On April 27, 1854, she was married at Cincinnati, Ohio, to Mr. August Saffelder, who preceded her in death about twenty years ago. The family lived in Guttenberg for many years. Her death is deeply mourned by six daughters, three sons, twelve grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. M. Eppens, of Guttenberg; Mrs. Louise Guss, of Dubuque; Mrs. C. Grotewohl, of South Dakota; and Mrs. Jessie Fricke, of Washington, and a large circle of relatives and friends, by whom she will be sadly missed, as she was a kind and true mother and friend. The family came to Guttenberg in the year 1855 and lived here until about twenty years ago,
