With Russell Schroeder, he bought the Jos. J. Kasper Implement Store Nov. 1, 1937, and he moved to town from his farm on Pleasant Ridge a month later. The firm was renamed Schroeder & Schroeder.
Mr. Schroeder was active in the business and social life of the community. He was known and respected both as a farmer and as a merchant. He was an active member of St. John’s American Lutheran church.

Plans of the Schroeder & Schroeder firm are unsettled.
