Mrs. Schloetzer Is Buried Here Sunday
_______Funeral services were held here on Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Catherine Schloetzer, 58, who passed away last Thursday following a long illness. She died at St. Olaf at the home of her daughter, Mrs. O. E. Peterson, with whom she had been making her home of late.
Mrs. Schloetzer had been a lifelong resident of Clayton county. Her maiden name was Catherine Eckle. Following her marriage to William Schloetzer the couple made their home on a farm near Ceres for many years. After the death of her husband in 1916, she moved to Guttenberg where she lived until a short time ago.
Mrs. Schloetzer leaves six daughters to mourn her passing. They are Mrs. M. Rammig [sic], National; Mrs. O. E. Peterson, St. Olaf; Mrs. Ernest Behr, Chicago; Mrs. Ed. Hoth, Elkader; Mrs. Forrest Dietrich and Mrs. W. Carrier, Guttenberg. She also leaves two brothers, Jacob and George Eckle, of Monona, and one half sister, Mrs. Bertha Gray, of Elkader.
Services were conducted from St. John’s Lutheran church here Sunday afternoon with Rev. W. J. F. Adix officiating. Interment was made in the city cemetery.
