Funeral services were held on Monday from the Tuecke Funeral Home for Walter Jenkins, 75, native of Garnavillo, who died at a Dubuque hospital following a short illness last Saturday.

The services were conducted by Rev. E. J. Starr, pastor of the Guttenberg Methodist church and burial was in the Guttenberg City cemetery. Pallbearers were Larry Boge, Homer Dahlman, John Haupert and Leland Phelps.

Mr. Jenkins was born in Garnavillo May 21, 1878, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace G. Jenkins. For many years he had made his home here and until just before his death had operated a service station.

On June 16, 1951, he married Alice Brandenburg, who survives. In addition to Mrs. Jenkins, Mr. Jenkins is survived by four step-daughters, Mrs. Larry Boge and Mrs. John Haupert of Dubuque, Mrs. Homer Dahlman of Epworth and Mrs. Leland Phelps of Colesburg.

Also surviving are thirteen step-grandchildren and a brother, C. B. Jenkins of Dubuque.
