Josepha Meyer, nee Rogers, was born Jan. 9th, 1870, near Fennimore, Wis., and died at a hospital at Sioux City, Iowa, on Feb. 17th, 1914. The family resided here for eighteen years, then they moved to Parker, S.D. Here the deceased was married to Ben Meyer, taking up their residence on the Claus Meyer farm, near Garnavillo. About five years later they took up their abode in Fenimore, Wis., where in October, 1910, Mr. Meyer passed away. Two children, Calvin and Gertrude, were born to this union, Calvin dying in infancy.
She is survived by her daughter, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers, of Fennimore, Wis.; a brother Elijah, at Mount Vernon, John, in Parker; Mary, in Fennimore, and Gertrude and Grace, at home.
Her remains were brought here for burial Sunday, Rev. Braun officiating. The following accompanied the remains: Jas. Rogers, Mrs. Schmidt, Mrs. Mary Michel and Elijah Rogers, Mrs. Sarring and Mr. and Mrs. John Meyer, of Sac County, Iowa; H. Meyer, of Schaller, Iowa; Mrs. King and Mr. and Mrs. H. Meyer, of Castalia, and Mrs. Chase, of McGregor.
