Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 05 Mar. 1914. Guttenberg columns.
On Wednesday morning at eight o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. J. Adam, where she was spending the winter, occurred the death of Mrs. George Rinkert, the cause of her death being apoplexy. She had not been ailing and was enjoying good health and therefore her sudden death is a shock for her relatives and friends. Deceased was born at Weisenstadt, Bayern, Germany, on May 28, 1844, and when ten years of age she came to America with her parents, settling in Clayton township, Clayton county, Iowa. In the year 1863 she was married at Clayton to Geo. Ruktaschel, who preceded her in death in 1877, and in 1888 she was married again at Volga City to George Rinkert, who also preceded her in death several years ago. Her home was at Volga City, but for the past three years she has spent the winter months at the home of her daughter in this city. She was 69 years, 8 months and 27 days of age at the time of her death. The passing of this good woman and mother has saddened many hearts. She was true and faithful in all of life's relations, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her. Her death is deeply mourned by three sons, Wm. and Christ Ruktaschal, of Cheynne, Wyoming, and G. M. Ruktaschel, of Pipestone, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Isabelle Adam, of Guttenberg, and Mrs. Lena Schumacher, of Garnavillo, and a large circle of relatives and friends by whom she will be sadly missed. Funeral services were held Saturday at 11 o'clock a.m., at the C. J. Adam home and the remains taken to Clayton for burial, Rev. K. Wm. Braun, of Garnavillo, officiating.
Notes: The surname Ruktaschal / Ruktaschel was spelled both ways in the obituary. She's buried with her 1st husband George Ruktaschel. The spelling on their gravestone is Ruktaschel.
