Charles Wesley Turner was born in Monona, Clayton County, Iowa, September 17, 1878, the youngest child of John and Eliza Turner. He passed to the spirit world Feb. 9, 1914, at the age of 35 years. He was educated in the public schools of his home town, graduating therefrom in June, 1898. About ten years ago he left here, going to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he has since made his home. On the 14th of July, 1909, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth J. Wiley, of that place, to which union was born a son, Oran Charles, May 10, 1910. Since the departure of the mother, two sisters have passed away, Flora, in May, 1905, and Almeada, in December, 1910. He leaves behind him a loving wife, Bessie, the son Oran; the aged father, two sisters, Minnie, of Waukon, and Maggie, of Monona, and two brothers, Frank, of Cornell, Wis., and Will, of Cedar Rapids, besides other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral service was held in the Methodist church at Monona, Thursday morning, Feb. 12th, and Interment made in the local cemetery.
