On Monday morning the sad news was received of the death of Miss Clara Waterman, of Dubuque. Clara took sick Wednesday and was taken to Mercy Hospital, where she received the very best of medical treatment, but despite all that she grew worse and on Sunday night she died, her death being caused by peritonitis. Clara was 28 years of age, a kind, good-natured young woman and was greatly liked by all who knew her. The remains were brought here Monday, accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Lena Waterman, and her sister, Mrs. A. J. Schnepf, who were with her at the time of her death. She is preceded in death by her father, Chas. Waterman, and two brothers, George and Henry. She leaves to mourn her mother, Mrs. Lena Waterman; her sisters, Mrs. Mary McSperrin, of Elkader; Mrs. Minnie Schroeder, and Mrs. Lizzie Kruse, of Guttenberg; Mrs. Lena Lovett, of Berlin, N.D.; Mrs. Laura Schnepf, of Garber, and Bertha and Alma Waterman at home, and her two brothers, Charles and Edward, also of this place, all of whom have the sympathy of the entire community. She was laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery, Wednesday, Rev. Father Minogue officiating.
