Anna Rosina Dickman, nee Thoma, was born March 1st, 1831, in Weisenstadt, Byren, Germany. She came to America with her parents in 1852. She was united in marriage to F. H. Dickman, in 1853, on June 16th. To them were born five children, three girls and two boys, namely: Sabina, married to Geo. Miller, of Roca, Nebraska; Eliza, married to Herman Shierholz, of Monona; Paulina, married to Wm. Kregel, of Monona; William, married to Anna Rucktaschel, of Garnavillo township; and Henry married to Fredericka Brandtman, of Garnavillo township. Her husband died April 3rd, 1898, at the age of seventy-five years. Those left to mourn her loss, besides her sons, are twenty-eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and four sisters. She lived with her son Henry until her death, which occurred Nov. 13th, at 12:30 a.m. Her age was 77 years, 8 months and 12 days.
