Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 23 Apr. 1908. Strawberry Point column.

Mrs. A. R. Carrier, who had been in poor health most of the winter, died very suddenly at her home east of town. She had been up and around the house all day Thursday and her sudden death came as a shock to all who knew her. Arabella Francis Richardson, eldest daughter of Oloah and Caroline Richardson, was born at Con___, New Hampshire, May 24th, 1842, and passed peacefully away April 14th, 1908.

She came to Iowa with her parents in October, 1858. On Nov. 18th, 1861, she was married to Alvester Robert Carrier. Five children came to bless this union, all of whom survive, excepting Cora May, who passed away March 3rd, 1880. Oloah F., of Lake Charles, La.; Grant R., of Strawberry Point; Fred L., of Garnavillo, Iowa; and Willie A., of Beaumont, Texas. She also leaves a husband and one sister, Mrs. John Davis, of Strawberry Point.

Mrs. Carrier accepted Christ as her Savior at the early age of sixteen years, but was not connected with any church until 1890, when she united with the Congregational church at this place, of which church she was a faithful member until her death. A kind and faithful wife, a true and loving mother has crossed the river of life to the great beyond and will be greatly missed by many relatives and friends.
