Joachim Busacker, one of the early settlers of Clayton county, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Maria Hamann last Saturday afternoon, at the good old age of 86 years, 8 months and 10 days, death being due to the infirmities of old age. deceased was born in Lo__endorf (looks like Lossendorf or Loesendorf), Mecklenberg, Schwerein, July 4, 1821. He was united in marriage with Dorothy Meyer in 1844 and came to America in 1851, locating in Jefferson twp. After a few years they moved onto a farm south of Garnavillo. Some twenty years ago, they, in company with their son Adolph, departed for Talmadge, Nebraska. After the death of their son they again returned and have made their home with their daughter the past year. To them were born four children, three having preceded him in death. He is survived by an aged wife and one daughter, Mrs. Maria Hamann. These, together with nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, are left to mourn his loss. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the residence of his daughter, and interment made in the Guttenberg cemetery. Rev. Braun conducted the services.
