Lawrence F. Thein Sr., 88, died Friday morning, Feb. 27, 2004, in Guttenberg Municipal Hospital, Guttenberg, following a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, St. Mark's Catholic Church, by the Rev. John Friederick. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial: St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Elkport. Arrangements by Leonard Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Darleen; two children, Lawrence (Jo Marie) Thein II and Kathryn (Wally) Brown, both of Edgewood; five grandchildren, Shelley (Paul) Dolan, Patti (Loras) Gerner, Paul (Stacy) Brown, Joan (Jack) Goedken and Julie (Mark) Johnson; and 14 great-grandchildren.
