Martha L. Rodenberg Bugenhagen, 89, of Guttenberg, formerly of Garnett Place, Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday afternoon, April 12, 1994, in the Guttenberg Care Center after a brief illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Trinity Lutheran Church, Guttenberg. Burial: Guttenberg City Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Survivors include three daughters, Marian and husband Williard Hohensee of Cedar Rapids, Norma and husband Charles Butters of Marion and Neva and husband John Crawford of Washington, Iowa; two sons, Orville and wife Inge Rodenberg of Rochester, N.Y., and Harold and wife Helen Rodenberg of Cedar Rapids; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.

Born June 27, 1904, on the family farm near Guttenberg, she was the daughter of Charles and Anna Walter Backes. She married Albert Rodenberg on Nov. 27, 1929, in Guttenberg. Albert died Nov. 5, 1955. She married Edwin Bugenhagen on Feb. 8, 1969, in Cedar Rapids. They lived in Monona. She moved to Cedar Rapids after Edwin died Aug. 6, 1986.
