Wednesday morning, from the Methodist church at this place, occurred the funeral of W. C. Boynton. The services were in charge of Rev. Guilbert, pastor, assisted by Rev. Holden. Burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery. Wm. C. Boynton was born in Rodman, Jefferson Co., N.Y., Aug. 26th, 1843, and died in Winthrop, Iowa, Jan. 6th, 1908. When he was eight days old his mother died and when he was eight years old he lost his father. From this time until he grew to manhood he lived with his uncle, C. S. Boynton, coming to Iowa with him in 1857 and residing at Strawberry Point. In 1862 he enlisted in Co. B, 21st Iowa Infantry. On Oct. 23rd, 1867, he was married to Miss Kate E. Knight, who remains to mourn his death. Mr. Boynton was a faithful member of the M.E. church and will be greatly missed by his fellow workers.
