Died, On Saturday afternoon, at his home in Mallory township, occurred the death of Jack Walters, at the age of 86 years. Mr. Walters was one of the pioneer settlers of Clayton county and was highly respected by all who knew him. The remains were laid to rest in the Hansel cemetery on Monday. May he rest in peace.
(Note: An apparent reference to A. U. Walters, 1822 - 10 Jan. 1908, shown in WPA records as buried in Hansel cemetery.)

On Saturday the 11th occurred the death of one of our oldest citizens, Andrew Jackson Walters, he having lived to be 85 years, 10 months and 21 days old. He was born in Pennsylvania and moved to this county over 50 years ago. He leaves 7 children to mourn his loss, besides grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was buried in the Hansel cemetery in Monday the 13th, Rev. Hansel conducting the services. May he rest in peace.
(Note: In the same paper, date, and in the Elkport and Vicinity column, he is identified as Jack Walters. WPA records show an apparent reference to A. U. Walters, 1822 - 10 Jan. 1908, buried in the Hansel cemetery.)
