Frank Stoeffler Is Buried Monday
Funeral services were held here on Monday morning for Frank Stoeffler, one of Guttenberg's pioneer settlers who passed away last Friday morning. He was 86 years old and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. P. Luther.
Mr. Stoeffler was the son of Frank Stoeffler and was born at Carlsrue, Germany, on December 4, 1846. He came to this country when he was six years old and settled at Guttenberg, in which vicinity he was to live for 80 years. His active days were spent in farming and in operating a lime business.
On January 30, 1871, he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Mary Gerner at Guttenberg. He is survived by his wife, two sons and four daughters. The children are: Otto and Andrew Stoeffler and Mrs. C. P. Luther, of Guttenberg; Mrs. Andrew Ewen, of Charles City; Mrs. Ernest Janzig of Dubuque, and Mrs. Emory Coy, of Fountain City, Wis. There are also a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from St. Mary's church with interment being made in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Rev. J. A. Dupont officiated.
The wife and children voice the appreciation for the consideration shown during their bereavement by their neighbors and friends.

E. Coy, of Fountain City, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Ewen, Mrs. John Heck and Mrs. Frank Clark, of Charles City; Mr. and Mrs. Matt Hoffman, Sr., Mrs. Frank Hoffman and Miss Emma Petters, of Howard, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thieman and Mrs. Veryl Smith and daughter Lila, of Marble Rock; Mr. and Mrs. George McMurray, of Oskaloosa, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Luther, of Waukon.
