Relatives received word from Oelwein Thursday afternoon that Mrs. Thos. Baldridge had passed away at the Mercy hospital in that city following a cerebral hemorrhage. Mrs. Baldridge was formerly Miss Mary Dillon, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Dillon. She was born on a farm on Cox Creek in 1855. Here she grew to womanhood and in 1884 was married to Thos. Baldridge at Sacred Heart church. They made their home in this vicinity until about twenty years ago when they moved to Oelwein where they have since resided. She is survived by her husband, two sons, Bert of Minneapolis and Ray of Waterloo, one daughter, Mrs. Marie Lawler of Oelwein, also five brothers, Christie, John, James, Gus and Tom. Her sister, Mrs. Theresa Ball, preceded her in death about ten years ago. Funeral services occurred Saturday morning in the Catholic church at Oelwein, after which the remains were brought here, her old home, she loved so well, and laid to rest in our beautiful cemetery.
