Alice Mary Bird was born May 6, 1896, and died Oct. 28, 1918, at McGregor, Iowa.

The Angel of death entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Bird, causing them to part with their daughter Alice, who fell asleep peacefully Wednesday morning after weeks of wasting illness.

Every effort that loving hands could suggest had been exhausted to save her but in vain.

She was a girl of sunny disposition and won many lasting friends by her sweetness of character.

She was a devout member of the Catholic church and died as she had lived, a sincere Christian.

She leaves to mourn her loss her father and mother, three sisters, Catherine, Anna and Elizabeth; and two brothers, Francis and Edward.

The funeral took place Saturday morning at 9 o'clock a.m., from St. Mary's Cathoic church, Rev. Father Horsfield officiating.

The sympathy of all is extended to the sorrowing family.
