Mary Loretta Bird died Sunday October 19th, after an illness of not a weeks duration. Deceased was born at North McGregor August 30th, 1901 [sic], and was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Bird of this city.
The funeral was held Tuesday at St. Mary's church, Rev. Father O'Donnell officiating.
The principal, teacher and classmates of the public school attending the services in a body. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved family.

Died, Sunday afternoon, Mary Lauretta, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Bird. the funeral was held from St. Mary's church Tuesday, Rev. Father O'Donnell officiating. The services were attended by scholars and teacher of the third grade of school, of which she was a member, and each little classmate dropped a white carnation on her casket.

Note: Her DOB in the McGregor News obit is in error. Laura M. Bird was enumerated with her parents on the 1900 U.S. census. Her age is given as 8 yrs & born Aug 1891. Parents: Bernard & Elizabeth (Weber) Bird
