The funeral services for Mrs. J. C. Potts were held from the M. E. Church Friday afternoon, Rev. P. M. Phillips in charge of services. The remains were brought here from Oelwein for interment in the family lot at Brown Cemetery. Emily Bush was born in Strasburg, Pennsylvania, March 5th, 1834, and passed away in her 86th year. She became the wife of Joseph Potts in 1951, the husband passing away in1900. Ten children were born to them, three children passing away in childhood, and their second eldest son Charles three years ago. The surviving children are Mrs. George Thorpe, of Manchester, Mrs. Wm. Blunt, of Spokane, Washington, E. C. Potts, of Oelwein, George of Hazleton, John of Maynard and Urban of California. All were present at the last rites except, Mrs. Blunt and Urban.
