Clayton County Register, Thur., 19 May 1927.

Barbara Thompson, eleven year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Thompson, of Highland township, died Wednesday, following a fall while riding horseback. She was found unconscious Monday morning by the roadside and never again regained consciousness.

The girl had been in the habit of riding horseback to and from school and when found the horse was close by. Due to the fact that the girl never regained consciousness the parents were unable to learn just what happened.
