A large number of relatives and friends of the late Wm. Wareham assembled at the family residence Sunday afternoon to unite in the last tribute to the memory of him whose death occurred in a hospital at Detroit, Michigan, last Wednesday. Rev. Hoffman, pastor of the M.E. church, had charge of the services. Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Talcott, Miss Tucker and Gorda Gill sang two selections "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "The City Four Square." The casket bearers were: G. W. Opperman, F. E. Tracy, F. K. Dalton, T. J. Peterson, Bert Blanchard and Elmer Plagman. The members of the I.O.O.F. Lodge of which Mr. Wareham was a member, had charge of the services at the grave. William Wareham, son of Lyman C. and Melissa Wareham, was born in Read Township near Elkader January 25, 1882, and died April 27, 1927. When a child he came to Strawberry Point with his parents and grew to manhood. At Minneapolis, July 21st, 1910, he was united in marriage to Miss Lizzie Manly of Lamont. To this union five children, Irene, Connie, Melvin, Billy Jr., and Kenneth, were born. The first four years of their married life was spent in South Dakota. In 1914 they returned to this place and Mr. Wareham entered into the billiard business which he conducted until his death. Besides his sorrowing wife and children, he leaves his father L. C. Wareham, of this place, one sister, Mrs. Hannah Hillock of Timber Lake, South Dakota, and two brothers, C. L. Wareham of Dysart and John of Clinton, his mother and a sister preceded him in death.
