Samuel Livingston, 45 years of age of this city, on Saturday morning ended his life by hanging himself to a bed post with an apron string in a bed room at his home. The lifeless body was found by his wife. No cause for the rash act is known. A Coroner's inquest was held by Coroner W. J. Beerman. Deceased was born on a farm in Mallory township, Clayton county, Iowa. He was married to Miss Ella Schrunk. For a number of years he was successfully engaged in farming in Millville township, but of late years had been a resident of Guttenberg. He was an ambitious man during his entire life and was of a pleasing personality, held in high regard by all who knew him. His death is deeply mourned by his widow, two sons, three daughters, several brothers and sisters, and numerous other relatives and friends, and he will be sadly missed by all. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church in this city Monday afternoon, Rev. D. D. Welch officiating. The body was laid to rest in the city cemetery. The funeral was largely attended. The family has the sympathy of all in this community.
